Archery Range:
This range is
located on the main floor of the clubhouse on the Williams
Lake Sportsmen's Association property on Bond Lake Road near
Williams Lake. The range has 10 shooting lanes of 18
meters in length with ample room behind the shooting line for
socializing and equipment set-up. The target wall
consists of an entire wall constructed of donna conna that is
8 inches deep and compressed by several large clamps.
This wall will stop arrows flying over 300 fps. Located
in the basement for members to work on and tune their bows are
a bow press, chronograph and paper to shoot through.
This range is open to club members and guests almost year
round with shooting hours of 7 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and 1
to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Outdoor 3-D Range:
This range
is located on 15 acres of wooded land just adjacent to land
owned by the Williams Lake Sportsmen's Association on Bond
Lake Road. This property was acquired by the Cariboo
Archers by means of a "Recreation Lease" from the Department
of Lands. This range is divided into upper and lower
courses and has approximately 40 targets located on these
courses. The targets consist of burlap sacks filled with
plastic and tied between trees. Distances to the targets
are unmarked providing excellent practice for 3-D and bow
hunting. This range is open from spring until the snow
adds up. Trails are marked and maintained by the club
and there are primitive bathroom facilities on the course.
Outdoor Target
Archery Range:
This range is
located directly behind the clubhouse. It does not
conform to FITA standards by view of the direction we must
shoot, however the range will allow shooting from distances up
to 60 yards. The butts are the standard 4'x4' donna
conna and there is plenty of room for several shooters.
